Date: August 1, 2017, Tuesday
Time: 7pm
Admission/person: S$8.50 (HSBC Black Prepaid Card)
Venue: Golden Village, VivoCity (level 2)
Whenever it comes to watching movie at a cinema, Golden Village (GV) has always been our first choice. However, it had been 5 years since we last watched a movie at Golden Village VivoCity, there were so many changes!
In the main hall, there were several automated ticketing machines, a snack corner and a service counter. Before proceed to buy tickets, we checked with the lady at the counter to ensure that automated ticketing machines would accept HSBC Black Card.
We had decided to watch "Wonder Woman", which was shown at a 7pm session. It was not difficult to use the automated ticketing machine, but when it reached the screen "Scan GV member QR", I needed more time to connect my phone for the details. Even though there was an option to manually input, I would still need to log in to get this number.
After several failed attempts to scan the QR code, we seek help from one of the staff. He helped to scan the QR code but to no avail, then he asked if my mobile screen brightness was set to the brightest (Who would set the screen to that level!). I followed his advice, after two more tries, the QR code was read. When I took out my HSBC Black Card to pay, this staff was very nice to inform me that it would be cheaper to use my GV Movie Club Tuesday privilege (discounted ticket price at S$6.50). But as my HSBC Black card was expiring soon, we just paid with it (costed S$8.50, which was the prevailing weekday rate, no savings).
A recap on the steps to buy a movie ticket using GV's automated ticketing machine.
You may buy tickets on level 2. Here, patrons could purchase tickets as usual, join the queue, tell cashier your choice of movie, time, seats, pay by cash/nets/credit card. Do note that the staff would advice patrons to use its automated ticketing machines for future purchases. If chosen this method, the advantage is that you may also buy popcorn, etc while buying tickets. However, at times the queue can be very long.

We were mesmerized by this Wonder Woman, the story-line was different from my memories of Wonder Woman from the TV series. It had a good mix of DC comics character with Greek mythology. The acting, dialogue, cinematography were all nicely executed. Throughout the movie, there wasn't a single boring moment. We had totally enjoyed the show!
