Malaysia, Johor Bahru - Pasar Malam Taman Century (KSL Monday Night Market)

[Today I'm going to this place again, my 3rd visit.  So exciting! 😋  This post is not exactly completed, will modify when I'm back.]

This place is officially known as Pasar Malam Taman Century, other names include:
Monday Night Market ⇒ since it is only open on every Monday
KSL Night Market ⇒ one end of this bazaar starts from street outside of KSL City shopping mall
Jalan Seladang Night Market ⇒ Jalan Seladang is the street name

How to get there?
  • After JB Customs & Immigration, walk about 5 minutes to JB Sentral Bus Terminal
  • Take bus S1 from JB Sentral (the bus booth at the furthest end), one way bus fare is M$1.50
  • Alternatively, there are private coaches with the sign "KSL", which also cost M$1.50 per way
  • The drop off / pick up point at KSL City Mall
    • The usual location is in front of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (across the road are the night market stalls)
    • Every Monday, 4pm to 10pm, because of road closure, drop off/pick up will be in front of KFC Restaurant (opposite of Holiday Villa Hotel, the other side of KSL City Mall)
  • If alight at KFC side of KSL Mall, enter Mall, take escalator to go one level up, go towards the main hall of the mall and you'll see The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.  Exit main entrance and the whole street full of vendors are right in front!

Like any bazaar, it is a market place with all sorts of items.  From stalls selling food/drinks, to fruits, vegetable, fishes, dry items such as clothes, toys, decoratives, incense items and many more.

These are our favourites. Muah chee!
Chewy smooth glutinous rice covered with finely chopped roasted peanuts.
It is very near to KSL, the stall is usually besides some Taiwan braised pork rice stall.

Bean curd (pictures shown isn't the famous one, later I'll replace them)
The really delicious and smooth bean curd stall is on the left side, from KSL direction, nearer towards end of street.

Ngee Heng Chwee Kueh
From KSL direction, it is on the left side, near middle of street.
Their chee cheong fun was very nicely made.  Many customers like to add on fried caipo, I prefer it plain without caipo.

Chilli Tapioca
It is far away from KSL, very near to Grand Paragon Hotel.  From KSL direction, it is on the right side.

Other stalls

While returning to hotel, I saw a queue behind a van, went ahead to check.  Oops... smelly tofu! 😷
