My earlier article was on Getting Preview Tickets, this article shares info on Jewel Changi after our visit on the first Preview day. Here's a quick guide to make the most out of the Preview visit.
1. Shaw Theatres #B2-237
If your Preview session is 10am to 1pm, you may want to head to Shaw Theatres at basement 2 to collect a pair for free tickets. From April 12 to 16, the cinema will be giving out 500 tickets on a first come first serve basis. These tickets are valid only for movies screening on the same day in the two Lumiere and seven regular halls. The cinema will be officially open on April 17, 2019, see Shaw Theatres Jewel.
2. Transparent Glass Lifts
Take Lift F (East Trail) or Lift H (West Trail) to level 5. These are the only 2 lifts where you may see Rain Vortex through transparent glass.
3. Canopy Park level 5
There are several attractions within Canopy Park and all will officially open on June 10, 2019 where there will be admission charges. During this 5-days Preview, visitors will be given free admission to Petal Garden, Topiary Walk where the colourful flowers and topiary animals make wonderful photography spots, and also Foggy Bowls where one can bask in the pool of mist. Other attractions which remain closed are:
Canopy Bridge, Bouncing Net, Walking Net, Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze, Discovery Slides
4. Burger & Lobster #05-203
While you are on level 5, you may want to check out the temporary booth of Burger & Lobster, a famous UK chain which will officially open in late May 2019. If you are there at the right timing, get a taste of its lobster!
5. Cloud9 Piazza level 5
While everyone crowds around Rain Vortex on the ground floor, get a bird’s eye view of the landscape from Cloud9 Piazza. The viewing spot (the space between Privé and Burger & Lobster) gives a great top-down view of Rain Vortex. See video clip at the bottom of this post.
6. Shiseido Forest Valley (officially opens 24 hours, closes at 10pm during Preview)
Exit from Canopy Park's Mirror Maze to East Trail of Forest Valley. Trek down the trail to enjoy the greenery and different angles of Rain Vortex. Feel the mist and breeze from the waterfall, listen to its therapeutic splashing and watch skytrains transit beside you. This 4-storey high indoor garden, with intriguing plants from all around the world, has more than 900 trees, palms and about 600,000 shrubs. There's another West Trail but during Preview it doesn't lead to level 5.
7. HSBC Rain Vortex (officially opens 24 hours, closes at 10pm during Preview)
The world's tallest indoor waterfall at 40 metres high, located at the heart of Forest Valley. The water falls right through basements. At times it releases mist that makes the surrounding looks very much like a real waterfall. Don't miss its night performance, a light-and-sound show.
NB. I've suggested above route cos I feel that Canopy Park is the real highlight of Preview, not just for the free admission but also as one of the first few visitors to see its beauty before it opens on June 10, 2019. As for other attractions, shops or dining venues, when Jewel opens to public from April 17, 2019, you may visit them anytime.
For a list of shops and dining venues, see Shopping & Dining. Almost all shops are open from April 11, 2019, unless otherwise stated. We'd chosen to spend more time on the attractions so only dined at basement 2 and Starbucks.

- A new market dining concept modelled after the local hawker scene, managed by Food Junction
- Many good stalls at reasonable prices, a delicious full meal at less than S$10
- Our favourite is Xing Hua Lou (highly recommend Putian Lor Mee and Heng Hwa Fried Bee Hoon)
- Payment may be made by cash, nets, credit card, AliPay, favePay, WeChatPay
- Prior to payment, show your Changi Rewards or CapitaStar e-card or physical card, to earn Double Rewards (see below for more details on Double Rewards)
- Some stalls have promotional sets or special deals, see Promotions
Starbucks Reserve #02-204
- Singapore's first flagship store at duplex unit
- The interior is very cosy with comfortable seats and several 3-pin wall sockets for charging (could've been better with USB or international sockets)
- Try its Cold Brew, serving from four tap Nitro, currently 2nd of its kind in Asia
- The regular Starbucks drinks are served at the same prices (menu may not display all drinks, ask barista if you cannot find your favourite drink)
- Payments may be made via Starbucks app but currently cannot redeem rewards

Pokémon Center #04-201/202 - first permanent store in Asia outside of Japan
- To control crowd, Preview visitors are allow to join queue in accordance to the registered time slot. For e.g. if your registered time slot is 10am to 1pm, you cannot join the queue after 1pm
SERVICES
WiFi (free)
- Just search for #WiFi@Jewel to access free WiFi, no registration
- Service is provided by Brezze, a Singapore sharing platform
- Need to download its application, bind a credit card (no deposit required)
- If register with debit card or AliPay, need to place a refundable S$10 deposit
- The auto-loan device can be found at the Concierge counter on L2 (besides Shake Shack)
- Charges apply after the first 12 hours
- NB. There were several feedback that the application failed to record return of device and as a result, user been charged
- Available at the Concierge counters on L1, L2 and L5
- Conveniently located on every level from B2 to L4
- Amenities include: diaper changing stations, hot & cold water dispensers, private cubicles for nursing/breast feeding
- You may also refill your drinking bottles at these locations
- Several Jewel attractions do not permit luggage to be brought in
- This service is at L1
- Service is available from April 17, 2019 onwards
- Facilities are on L1
- Passengers must have at least 3 hours before departure time to use early check-in
- Passengers need to reach departing terminals at least 60 minutes before flight time

SOME FACTS
- Jewel Changi Airport is not a new terminal, it is a mixed-use development with gardens, attractions, a hotel, aviation facilities and more than 280 retail and dining facilities, covering an approximate floor area of 137,000sqm, 10-storeys with 5 above ground and 5 basement levels
- The venue was formally open-air car park of Terminal 1 and it took 4 years to build
- It is designed by a consortium led by Safdie Architects, helmed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie, who also came up with Marina Bay Sands
- The new complex is integrated with Changi Airport Terminal 1 via Arrival Hall at level 1
- It is also linked to Changi Airport Terminal 2 and 3 via air-conditioned pedestrian walkways
- It'll officially open to public on April 17, 2019, free admission (no ticket is required)
- April 11 to 16, 2019 is its Preview period, where tickets are required
